WHISPERING MIRRORS | Rodrigo Gomes

After being the winner of the Black Raven Award by The New Art Fest, with the work Ariane, a deepfake video that equates the diffusion and consumption of images, as well as the possibilities operated by artificial intelligence and the way contemporary technique and hyper technology filter everyday reality, Rodrigo Gomes (Faro, PT, 1991) now presents us Whispering Mirrors, from 6 August to 26 September at Carpintarias de São Lázaro, Lisbon.

This project has the curatorship of David Revés and presents a wide range of new sculptures and videos by the artist that can be constituted as organic realities independent of their observer, by developing their own ways of existence, operationality, and visibility.
​
Inhabiting the entire exhibition space with a certain continuous breath will create an immersive, reflective, and specular environment capable of equating the subjective relations of the body with technical objects and their multimedia terminals, thus proposing new configurations of space and time to refute their apparent linearity and predictability.
