SOLOS MULTIPLICADOS
The show crosses contemporary dance and inclusive dance, having 10 creators x 10 performers with and without disabilities, each one assuming in an equal, reciprocal and shared way the role of choreographer and performer. The common goal is the construction of a plural body and stage. The programme curated and artistically coordinated by the choreographer Rafael Alvarez presents a series of ten solos choreographed and performed by Ariadne Uria, Daniela Reis, Diana Niepce, Diana Tomé, Cristina Tavares, Frederico Augusto, Inês Cardoso, Joana Martins, Mariana Rodrigues, Sofia Santos and Rafael Alvarez, presented as a choreographic installation-performance, in a multiplication of bodies, senses, identities and movement poetics - a manifesto for a plural body.

The project, co-produced by BODYBUILDERS | Rafael Alvarez and Plural_Companhia de Dança/Fundação LIGA, in partnership with Escola Superior de Dança and ANACED, is co-financed by the Arte sem Limites Programme of Direcção-Geral das Artes/Ministério da Cultura in partnership with Acesso Cultura. It brings together a collective of artists with and without disabilities/functional diversity, young creators, students and recently graduated of the School of Dance and other guest artists with established careers in contemporary dance, providing some of the creators involved the opportunity to direct and present their first choreographic works.

SOLOS MULTIPLICADOS challenges the context and the paradigm of performing arts and contemporary dance in Portugal, creating opportunities in a professional context for the support, training, consolidation and emergence of new creators with disabilities, contributing as well to improve attitudes and artistic practices that promote real inclusion and effective plurality in the artistic community and in the cultural offer, valuing human diversity as artistic capital. From the identities, experiences and singularities of each creator and their perspectives on the world, different aesthetic and ethical visions about an inclusive, but not exclusive body and a more democratic and accessible dance are shared.

It is urgent to disarrange the established order in the circuits of artistic programming that are (still) practically inaccessible and closed to artists with disabilities/functional diversity and emerging artists. Contradicting this system, which is alien to the diversity and representativeness of other bodies and voices and the plurality of identities and artistic visions, is also a political movement. To think, create, include and transform from the place of the body. This is our manifesto, a multiplication of bodies and worlds for a more plural stage.
